Workplace-specific questions, answered

Do we pay for the electricity, or do staff pay?

Your choice. Most employers offer free charging as a perk (we bill you, you recharge staff via salary sacrifice). Others let staff pay directly via the app at subsidised rates. We model both options.

How do we manage demand if more staff get EVs?

We install load-balanced chargers that dynamically share available power. As EV adoption grows, we can phase additional chargers. Most workplaces start with 10–20 bays for 200+ staff.

Can we restrict charging to staff only?

Yes — via the app with employee verification. Most workplaces keep 2–4 bays for visitors/contractors, rest for staff only.

What about tax implications for free charging?

HMRC currently exempts workplace charging from benefit-in-kind tax (same as free parking). This is scheduled to continue until at least 2025. We will keep you updated on any changes.

Ready to offer free EV charging to your staff?
